In Jharkhand, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress-Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) alliance on Tuesday sent 32 of its MLAs to Raipur amid the political crisis in the state. The MLAs are staying in the luxurious 'resort' of Nava Raipur. At the same time, four ministers staying in the 'resort' had gone back to Ranchi to attend today's cabinet meeting, while another MLA reached the 'resort' from Ranchi.
Congress sources in the state said that Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has not accompanied the UPA MLAs to Raipur, but some senior JMM leaders are with him. Jharkhand's opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had filed a petition in the Election Commission against Chief Minister Hemant Soren in an office of profit case. The Election Commission has sent its decision to the state governor Ramesh Bais on August 25.
Here, the JMM accused the BJP of trying to destabilize and terrorize the governments of the opposition parties.
